Petco Distribution Center, MIRA LOMA, CA
KDC Systems provided electrical and control system expertise to install and automate the Petco Distribution Center’s Conveyor Control System (CCS) in Mira Loma, California. The CCS consists of 2 three level pick areas, a Sawtooth merge, and a 2-sided sorter. Boxes discharged from the South Pick Module third level merge with the 1st and 2nd level before they are transported to the Sawtooth merge. The North Pick Module discharge transports directly to the Sawtooth merge where it meets the South Pick Module discharge as well as the sorter recirculation. The discharge of the Sawtooth merge feeds the 37 lane, 2-sided sorter consisting of 1 error lane and 36 shipping lanes. A Pre-Aligner before the sorter induct aligns boxes to the correct side of the sorter depending on their lane assignment; even lanes divert to the left and odd lanes divert to the right.
