Air Treatment Facility
NCOS- North Central Outfall Sewer, LOS ANGELES, CA
KDC Systems provided electrical and control system expertise to install and automate an air treatment facility for the City of Los Angeles. The system utilized (3) biotrickling filters, (4) carbon units, (2) 150 Hp foul air fans, degreaser, demister, and ventilation fans to remove odor and particulate from sewer air before discharge to atmosphere.
The electrical work included installing all power distribution equipment including the incoming service entrance switchboard and metering through to the MCCs and site power distribution. KDC wired and interfaced to the standby back-up generator, UPS power equipment, and safety systems including fire alarm and security gate. We trained the owner’s maintenance personnel on correct operation and maintenance of all installed electrical systems.
Control system work included designing, procuring, building, testing, and commissioning of new control panels complete with Siemens PLC and HMI control hardware. KDC supplied, installed, calibrated, and commissioned all process control instrumentation. We programmed and commissioned all process control logic, and provided remote monitoring capability of the facility via a dedicated leased line. We trained the owner’s operation and maintenance personnel on all installed instrumentation and control system equipment including function, preventative maintenance, and calibration.
